ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—Company owner and realtor Lucy Ambrose attended Shen Yun’s evening show for the first time at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts on May 3. She thought the experience was “absolutely beautiful” and “breathtaking.”
“It actually transports you back in time and makes you think about how the history started in Chinese culture. It’s things that we don’t see and don’t know,” she expressed.
“I loved it. It was very recreational. A lot of imagination, a lot of creativity. It’s just breathtaking. I keep thinking about the colors they used. The colors have a lot to do with nature—the green of the grass, the pinks of the flowers, the blue of the sea—it’s gorgeous. Very creative, very unique, very wonderful.”
Since its inception in 2006, Shen Yun has grown into a global sensation. Its eight equally-sized companies are currently wrapping up their 2024 season with performances in over 200 cities worldwide.
“I think Chinese people are very spiritual. I think their culture focuses very much on their ancestors and their past,” she expressed.
“They try to keep that alive, and I love that about it. I wish I could learn more about that culture. We have a lot to learn from Chinese culture, a lot.”
“It relaxed me so much. Honestly, I’m so stressed with work, and it just really separated my body from my mind, and I just let it go. I love it very much. This is my first time, but it’s not going to be my last. I’m going to come back next time.”
